Got a job for
a trained horse?
This is a unique opportunity to purchase one of the last breeding
sons of Doc O’Lena, along with 13 of his offspring, that have
been bred, owned, trained and shown almost entirely by one
owner. This dispersal sale of 13 head of trained horses, all
sired by Lenas Charley Moon, features several trained cutting
horses ready to haul plus several beautiful, sound, good-boned,
balanced and well-bred horses with two or more years of cutting
training that can go several directions in the performance
horse industry.
They would not only
make excellent cutting horses, but also ranch horses, reined
cow horses, barrel horses, team penning horses — or they could
do most any job you have for a performance horse. They’re
fit and ready to go. These horses have never been injected,
have clean ankle joints and are easy to be around, haul and
shoe. Most of them are one-owner horses.

Charley Moon (Charley) is a fully trained cutting
horse sired by Doc O’Lena; however, he had limited
showing in the cutting arena due to an early injury.
He is one of the very few available sons of Doc
O’Lena that is still breeding. He is sound to breed
and easy to handle. His dam, Krissie Moon, is the
dam of six foals which have won over $193,769 in
cutting competition, including several being finalists
in major NCHA aged events. Her daughter, Lenas Lucinda,
a full sister to Lenas Charley Moon, earned $161,760
in NCHA competition, including fourth place in the
1985 NCHA Open Cutting Futurity, and is the dam
of 14 offspring of performance age, with 13 earning
over $666,805. Several have been finalists in major
NCHA aged events, including SPL Altisimo, Reserve
Champion of the 1995 NCHA Non-Pro Derby. |

that was shown at the NCHA Futurity but has been
hauled little since. He is fully trained and broke
to death. He is a solid cutting horse with a pretty
style and he keeps his low hocks under him. With
limited tuning, he could be an Open horse. He is
also bred to be a sire. His dam is sired by Freckles
Playboy, one of the industry’s leading maternal
grandsires. |

Jewel Lena (Red) is a pretty, well-balanced stallion
that is extremely “cowy.” He is also a fully trained
cutting horse that has never been hauled. But he
is broke to death, very correct and ready to haul
down the road. He is a laid-back quiet horse with
a good disposition but if you ask him to do it —
he does it. He is a full brother to Lenas San Jewel
(Missy) and his dam, San Baby Cutter, was the Reserve
Champion of the American Cutting Horse Association
Futurity, and sired by Freckles San Man, a son of
the legendary Jewel’s Leo Bars. Her dam is out of

Olena (Lizzie) is one of the most gorgeous, best-headed,
well-balanced black mares you will ever see — and
she’s a people horse. She’s ready to go cut. She
has had two years on cattle but has never been shown.
She loads and hauls good and you can take her anywhere.
“She’s cocky — she knows she’s pretty,” says the
owner. “When you send her, she gets there.” Her
dam is a dun granddaughter of the great Black Gold
Zan, the maternal grandsire of The Gemnist, the
1985 NCHA Futurity Champion. |

seasoned cutting mare and has been shown successfully
by a youth. She hauls good and anyone can ride and
show her — and win. She is a quiet mare with a soft
eye and a good disposition. She would be a great
mare to start out the new year with and win your
division. She’s still eligible for $3,000 Novice
Horse division. Her dam, San Baby Cutter, was the
Reserve Champion of the American Cutting Horse Association
Futurity, and sired by Freckles San Man, a son of
the legendary Jewel’s Leo Bars. Her dam is out of

Classy Lady (Lady) is a well-trained, solid cutting
horse that has seen a lot of cattle but has never
been hauled and shown in competition. She is a stout
mare but very athletic, with a lot of draw on. “She
is committed to a cattle job,” says the owner, “but
she wouldn’t mind leaving you in the dirt and stepping
over you on the way back.” But she can also run
a “hole in the wind.” She is easy to handle and
be around. She has no blemishes. |

Lenas Angel Moon (Bunny) is well broke and a trained
cutting horse that took the owner took to the NCHA
Futurity. “Due to a pilot error, she didn’t get
anything done,” says the owner. Since the Futurity,
she hasn’t been shown much and has served as a student
horse for several people learning to cut. She is
super athletic and very cowy. She wants to be a
people horse and is gentle for an intermediate rider.
A while back, she kicked a fence and has an enlarged
right ankle; however, with reasonable riding, she
could babysit anyone wanting to learn how to cut.
She would also be an excellent broodmare. |

and is a solid, well-broke gelding. “It’s a pleasure
to ride across the pasture on him,” says the owner.
“I haven’t roped on him but I wouldn’t hesitate.”
This is a big, tough, yet quiet gelding with a lot
of fire and would make a great man’s horse. You

Sting N Doc (Doc) has seen a lot of cattle and is
about 75 percent trained. He also works great on
a flag. He is extremely athletic and quick. If you
didn’t want to cut on him, he would make a great
roping or barrel prospect. Two of his half brothers
were big-league rope horses, selling for a lot of
money, and a full sister was a great barrel horse
up north. This horse is well balanced with lots
of bone and needs an advanced rider. |

He would make a great ranch, playday, turnback or
